Oldfield Free Church (Baptist)

5th Ealing Boys' Brigade Company - Formed 1942

The Boys' Brigade was founded in Glasgow in 1883

The object of the Boys' Brigade is the advancement of Christ's Kingdom among boys, and the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, self respect and all that tends toward a true Christian manliness.

There are 3 sections which meet on a Friday evening at the Church:

Captain Martin Smith

Anchor Boys
5 - 8 year olds. 6.00 - 7.30pm
An evening full of activities, games, craft work and Bible stories. This is a chance to work with others, have fun and begin to learn some important life skills.

Junior Section
8 - 11 year olds. 6.00 - 7.30pm
Again a fun packed evening of games, badge work, Bible stories and more. The wide ranging badge scheme covers Body, Mind, Spirit, Community and Creativity.

Company Section
11 - 18 year olds. 7.30 - 9.45pm
The programme for the Company Section is based around a new badge scheme with three sections, Skills, Community and Recreation, through which boys can participate in a wide range of activities. All sections contain elements of leadership and Christian faith. But it is not all work and no play as we also have social evenings to allow relaxed times with each other. We have a bugle band and encourage every member to take part.

The Company as a whole
All sections wear a uniform and have a period of Christian teaching. All of our staff have been trained within the Brigade and undergo regular refresher training.

The Company follows the Brigade and Baptist Church 'Safe to Grow' policies.

Boys are encouraged to attend our Church's Kingfisher's or YPF, or their own Church, on Sundays and our monthly Church Parade normally held on the first Sunday in the month.
